Laos is much newer to tourism than it’s popular neighbour, Thailand. Gradually, more and more tourists have begun to spill over and while there are a lot of westerners in certain towns, it is much easier to discover Laos tradition and culture than it is in Thailand.
The people are charming and the pace of life is very, very relaxed. We enjoyed discovering this beautiful country.

Likes: the charming people
Dislikes: food offered is often ‘thai green curry’ and ‘pad thai’ rather than Laos specialities. Try Laos food in the more off-the-beaten track destinations
